Mommy's Dirty Little Secret

I like it dirty. Really dirty. And I am here to let you in on the secret to making it extra dirty if you're into that sort of thing. Like anything, it's all in what you use and how you do it.  Start with a firm foundation. Some like it sweet, others tart, I like mine a little smooth and sweet.

Wait, what did you think we were doing? Sure, a good martini depends on the vodka or gin, but I think the secret lies in the brine.

Here's my recipe for the BEST Dirty Martini. Enjoy! Love, Alana

Ingredients:

First things first, get yourself a bottle of Dirty Sue. You'll thank me for it. It's an olive juice for a Dirty Martini, but I like to jazz it up with a little straight-up brine, you'll thank me for it, your cholesterol may not.

  • Vodka is my preference. Titos to be exact, if you're reading this, and are so inclined to buy a bottle to share.
2 oz.  of vodka (or gin). Make this a generous two-ounces. You work hard. You're beautiful, and damnit, you deserve it. Repeat this mantra as you pour your ingredients into a chilled shaker (pre-filled with ice).

  • 1/2 oz. of Dirty Sue Mix

  • 1/2 oz. of OG Brine (2 C. Green Olives, 2.5 C of Water, 1/2 C of White Vinegar, 3 TBSP salt | pour in a jar, and mash olives to release juices, let sit for 4 hours)

  • 1 to 2 Olives for Garnish (Extra Olives or Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives are good too!)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients, except olives (those are last), into a shaker filled with ice, listen to Lizzo "Feelin' Good As Hell" and shake to the beat for about 15-20 seconds. Pour a glass. Sit back, take a sip, and feel good as hell.
